Internship Opportunities

Gain valuable work experience working in one of the Midwest’s most dynamic visitor destinations. Galena, Illinois, located 3 hours west of Chicago, offers students a safe, friendly and affordable opportunity for practical on-the-job training in the United States.

To Qualify for an Internship:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a Hospitality Restaurant Management degree post-secondary institution outside of the United States
  • Or a recent graduate from a degree granted post-secondary institution who will begin the program within 12 months of graduating
To Qualify as a Trainee:
  • Student must have a degree from a post-secondary institution and at least one year work experience in the visitor industry
  • Or 5 years work experience in the visitor industry

Positions Available

Food & Beverage

Gain hands-on experience in a U.S.-operated food and beverage outlet. Front of the House team members will learn restaurant operations including dining room and bar service, banquet setup and serving, and special events.


Culinary

Kitchen team members thrive in a fast-paced environment. Safe and proper food handling is a must. Responsibilites include food preparation, assembling meals, and use of common commercial kitchen equipment.


Rotational

Rotational programs combine elements from the Food & Beverage and Culinary programs.


On the Job Training (OJT)

We have created a unique opportunity to prepare you for your experience in the U.S. by partnering with La Entrada Resort & Restaurant located in Barangay Britania, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur and Alameda Farm located in Gata, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

Alameda, the owner of La Entrada Resort, completed her year-long internship in Galena, Illinois. Both the resort and the farm offer an excellent opportunity to gain experience prior to departing for the U.S. In addition, both are TESDA-certified providing a professional advantage for the career-minded student.
